Appointment of New Executive Headmaster at Wycombe Abbey School Nanjing

Dear all,
We are thrilled to introduce Mr Matthew Jamieson as the new Executive Headmaster of Wycombe Abbey School Nanjing.
Matthew will join us in April 2025, leaving ample time to prepare for the retirement of our outgoing Executive Headmaster, Mr Christopher Chadwick, at the end of the academic year.
Matthew comes to us from the position of Interim Headmaster of Sherborne School, one of the top UK boarding schools, renowned for its academic excellence, pastoral care, and commitment to holistic education. His leadership has continued their tradition of producing well-rounded students who excel in academics, arts, sports, and leadership.

All-Round Teachers
Our teachers are carefully selected from among the finest education professionals. They are all impressive individuals who have the requisite qualifications and are specifically chosen for their all-round accomplishments. Every teacher understands British boarding school education extensively and receives regular professional training to ensure this is maintained. Cultivating lifelong skills for children
Academic
We prepare the children to be enthusiastic lifelong learners, blending the Chinese National Curriculum and British Curriculum (EYFS, ENC, IGCSE, A-Level) and providing small classes and differentiated teaching.
Sports
A wealth of sports is offered to our students, including rowing, sailing, rugby, golf, horse riding, hockey, fencing, tennis and netball. We have a team of professional coaches, including some national-level coaches, to help students develop physical fitness, strength and resilience.
Music
We provide rigorous music courses, including theory, appreciation, arrangement and composition, vocal music, and instruction in more than ten musical instruments. Music fosters students’ musical skills and develops their creativity.
Art
We provide many art courses, including graphic design, photography, painting, and sculpture, helping students discover new skills and talents and develop their creativity, coordination, and perseverance.
Drama
We offer many opportunities to participate in drama, including performing, writing, directing and stage managing. Students learn to be adaptable, flexible, and think creatively while working collaboratively to achieve a shared outcome.
Super Curriculum
Our ‘super-curricular programme’ is unique, including many challenging activities such as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, overseas trips and global competitions. This is one way we inspire our students to develop their full potential.
